A mother, a graphic designer, and a heart deeply rooted in spirituality.
I’m Kashish Shubham Alimchandani—the founder, author and creative mind behind Roots & Rhymes.

Who I am
Creativity has always been my language. Spirituality has always been my anchor.
I am a graphic designer by profession, a mother by heart, and a spiritually inclined person who believes that our traditions carry timeless wisdom. Design taught me how colour, words and illustrations can make an idea come alive. Motherhood gave that creativity a deeper purpose.
After becoming a mother, I began looking at our culture through a child’s eyes. I realised that children are often taught what to do during a festival or ritual—but they are not always told why we do it, what it means, or what value it can bring into their lives.
How Roots & Rhymes began
It started with the questions I carried as a mother.
How can I introduce Sanatana Dharma without making it feel difficult? How can I explain festivals beyond clothes, food and celebration? How can ancient wisdom help a child understand kindness, courage, emotions and everyday choices?
While searching for resources, I felt the need for books that were culturally rooted, visually beautiful and genuinely made for young minds. Books that children would want to open. Books that parents and children could explore together. Books that combined learning with stories, conversations, colouring, activities, questions and real-life experiences.
That need slowly became an idea—and that idea became Roots & Rhymes.
A designer’s approach
I began translating deep ideas into gentle words, inviting illustrations and meaningful activities suited to different ages.
A spiritual purpose
I wanted children to understand the wisdom behind our traditions and carry those values confidently into modern life.

What I create
Books made to be explored—not simply read.
Every Roots & Rhymes book begins with a question: What should a child truly understand from this? From festival workbooks and mythology activities to emotional learning inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, I try to make each subject simple, thoughtful and age-appropriate.
My aim is not only to share information. It is to create moments of connection—between a parent and child, between a question and its meaning, and between a young mind and the roots of its culture.

To raise curious children with strong roots, open minds and kind hearts.
Roots & Rhymes is still growing, just like the children it is created for. My dream is to build a trusted cultural-learning library that helps families in India and across the world pass on Sanatana wisdom with understanding, love and joy.
This is more than a brand to me. It is a mother’s hope, a designer’s creation and a spiritual journey—growing one book, one question and one little heart at a time.
